As part of The Daily Telegraph and Norwich Union 'School Sport Matters' campaign, which highlights the achievements of sport in the school environment, we are looking to recognise and honour the best schools, teachers, teams and individuals in the country at the 2nd Annual School Sport Matters National Awards.
So many people are involved in school sport, with teachers, volunteers, parents and coaches all giving up time and effort to support teams and individuals. We want to hear about the success of sport in your school and who contributes to it, whether it’s a winning team performance, the achievements of a single student or the tireless efforts of a teacher who organises everything from training to fixtures to ordering kit and driving pupils to competitions.
The stories will be entered into specific categories and the best stories, schools, teams and individuals will go before our judging panel, with the top three entries per category shortlisted for The School Sport Matters National Awards Ceremony in December. The judging panel includes double Olympic gold medallists James Cracknell and myself as well as other stars of the sporting world, many of whom will be presenting the awards.
